Tryng to Move On (WIP + Finished)

Hello again!

I wanted to bring this to you, so you can see how I looked the past 2 weeks

while I was moving on xD

First of all, I don't have as many photos as the others WIP, but I

believe that these three are enough for what I want to explain...

Do you know that expression that sometimes mistakes give opportunities to great

discoveries, well, this big brown stain on my drawing is the proof of it, but let's go step by step, shall we?

First I Traced a previous Sketch on a watercolor paper and stained with a sponge the whole paper with brown, then (I most say this was the first time I actually made something seriously on gouache) I started painting, that dark brown "teddybear" was the first thing I did, I regret it as soon as I did it, but the it became a wonderful funny add to the final painting...

 

I made a very watery gouache, since this was my first time, but the figure of the teddybear, gave me Literally headache, no joke, was a total pain in the eyes... 

 Here, as you can see, disappeared, my teacher had the most fantastic Idea, cover it till' we could decide properly how to fix it, So I continued painting, adding lights and shadows to the composition.

When I got almost everything done, my teacher came again and said: "I would just tear that brown thing"

Magic Words were those, thus 'that' we did, then everything made sense, it was the right color,

the right place, the right amount and of course, the right time...

Now you can see why...

After that I just added some graphite on some places.

Sketch Corner 16

Hi Guys!

I'm so sorry for the delay, I've been moving on the past 2 weeks and my internet

connection right now sucks, so, today I'll bring you not 6, or 7 pages, but 100!! pages =D

Sketch Corner 15

Hello guys!!

Hope you're having a nice weekend so far.

Here I brought you some sketches full of rage and others full of peace, you can see

with this I had a quite stressful moment when I was doing this pages, but then, as sudden as it came, it left, here I leave you with the transition =D

A picture is worth a thousand words, I couldn't do anything right 

during that week, and basically this is the rage I must contain inside me and manage

to express and filter through my drawings, but this time I just had too much (you

had to see the people in the train staring at me while I was drawing this, their faces were

just so funny xD).

 As you can see, the things here were cooling down, First I made the one on

the right, it's more controlled than the other, and then the total peaceful on the left 

is represented by this delicate girl en the left, I just left the sketch that way, 

as peaceful as it could be.

Always after I let go all the rage in one drawing like in the first one, my drawings

tend to get a little resent[?], I don't know if that's the word for it, but basically

these are some random sketches after the rage storm.

Some other sketches from Tony DiTerlizzi's book Ted, getting new ideas, but

these are not quite the ones I'm using right now.

 These drawing was first an idea from the book Under the Dome by Stephen King

 (Highly recommended), I'm probably going to do this from another perspective, but 

I'm currently using this idea on another drawing I expect to finish soon.

Well guess that's all for this week, I wanted to clarify that I'm usually a very calm person,

this rage you see in the first one is something I never express in real life, it's something, as

I said, manage to filter through my drawings, in fact, some of my best drawings come when

I'm a little bit angry xD

Fast-Painting

A while ago I made a fast-painting, 

it was a pretty nice thing to try, but I must say, doing it on traditional media

is quite a journey, you just don't put whatever you want wherever you want.

 I made this first one with a Watercolor base and then used Gouache to create the more thick and opaque parts, almost all the strokes were made with an sponge to get that texture, at the end I just didn't use much water so I could make drier strokes.

Then we have this one, I made it on Painter, first time I used this program, I couldn't get 

the same feeling as in the traditional, but as a first touch this was pretty nice, I made it on  half hour more  or less, I can't wait to get a new computer to test more this program, even though it's more complicated than Photoshop you get other interesting results =D

In case I get the chance, I'll bring you more speed paintings and stuff made with Painter.

Sketch Corner 14

Well guys

This week I got you 5 pages of sketches, either for work or school (busy times jeje)

Here some ideas for the Red Riding hood custom story I posted last week,

the one in the top right is actually one of the sketches I used.

the character on the right bottom corner is just a random sketch =)

The sketch in the left is an Idea I wanted to use for 

the cover of the custom story (I just couldn't). And the happy fellow on the top

right is a face I had to repeat 3 times, but adding later different stuff, so they could

be different people, I'll show you the final as soon as my teacher gives it back to me.

Some Ideas for the Artistic drawing class, we have to create 5 characters that can be related on the way we want, for example, I chose to make little creatures that can be found on a backyard (A Stick-man, a Leaf-woman, a Coal-men, an Acorn-men and a  Key-man ), basically we have to keep the same style, but from what I can gather, this exercise is a gift =D

Another class stuff, from an illustrated book we have to recreate

a new illustration with our own style and work as if it's going to be published, so

we have to pay attention to the size. I chose "Ted" from Tony DiTerlizzi, and is about

an imaginary friend named Ted, these are previous sketches to see how he will be.

 

Finally, but no less important, some drawings for a game that's coming out soon.

Is a game for kids on iPad of a Pet shop, these are Ideas for the Mars shop pets.

A little cute Alien, A worried Chewie, Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Awsome movie, gotta read the books), and the next two are random pets...

Sketch Corner 12!! The COMEBACK!! >=D

Okey guys, I guess is not very professional to live people

who watches you without even an "I'll be back soon?",

 "Happy New Year", "Yes, I'm still Alive" or "I was on a Bunker thanks to Mayans, Sorry"...

The thing is that I've been doing lots of ... How would I call them?... Things?... Stuff!!

Let's call them stuff  =D

This ones bellow are from before Christmas, so, they don't count as "New" 

I guess, but this is the regular line we have to follow so you can see

my progress.

On these two pages I tried to apply some kind of 

different styles to the main characters of a personal 

project I'm willing to do for the end of the summer of this year 

Nothing in particular here, just some random

Sketches.

the left bottom corner was drawn by one of my classmates, 

he does Hiper-realistic drawings, as soon as I get his blog I'll post it in this post =D

There is not too much to say about these pages, just practicing on 

the train while going and coming from school and work...

Being Creative

Hello people, I'll have to apologize, 

this weekend I won't be able to bring you

  the Sketch Corner section, I've been full of work the whole week, 

instead, I bring you this sketches I made on class =D

The Idea was to take the pose of the model and basically create a different version

just using his body position as a reference, we had 20 min between poses to observe and draw it.

These are my weird creations, I used watercolor, color pencil and graphite

Sketch Corner 11

HI! =D

This week you'll get the maximum of inspiration I 

can get sometimes, I like so much when drawings come this easy and good, and

as I'm sharing this full inspiration with you, I hope u love'em =)

Clearly, these ones have no sense at all, but the shading, line and 
the quickly and easy they were drawn makes them that special to me. =D

Again, these were very easy to draw, but I also

had a good time playing with their expressions.

From this one the ones on the top and bottom right 

corner are my favorites...

From left to right and up to down; a female face I plan on using for an

illustration this same week; an armed turtle made from a scratch; and a new kind of 

line and drawing style I'm practicing... 

And this is a test with different characters of the style mentioned on 

the last page, I'm actually thinking using this style for

the short-film I'm planning to do as my final project =D

Hahaha, was kinda funny looking at this again =)

Well, I guess u want an explanation about what's this, don't you?

Last year on Photography class we had to make a story with 10 photographs. As I'm 

ugly as hell, the option of Me being the main character of the story was totally discarded, so, as

I'm studying Illustration, making a character was a very good idea.

I saw a lot of people doing this kind of interaction with paper characters, so I wanted to give

it a try, and this was the result =D

Mr. Kneeless and the background were made with watercolor and a black pen on a 370gr watercolor paper. I made the photos with a PENTAX camera and then added some final touches with Photoshop.

Hope you enjoyed and laughed as much as I did!

The Idea was to take some different poses, to practice both:

some natural poses that can help on the postures we would like to create, And the lineart style =)

I made it with Ink and Color pencils, then added some lighting effects with photoshop =D
